Handmade Winter Jacket Back
High end commerical upholstery fabrics used on a winter jacket.

This jacket is not lined, but it is comfortable even during the winter here in Portland, Oregon.

I purchased the fabrics at a store that specializes in high end upholstery fabrics (Whole Nine Yards) with the intent to use for clothing. I feel that upholstery fabrics like these offer nice opportunites for colors and patterns that are not available with normal apparel fabrics.

Although you may not see these fabrics on furniture in many homes; you should see some of these types of fabrics at restaurants, office building, and the first class lounges in many airports.

The patterns and colors you see are all either tapestry or embroidery. There are no prints.

In constructing this garment, I ensured that all fabrics were pre-soaked in water so that I can be sure that it can be machine washed without any adverse shrinkage.
