Matthew Shepard Memorial Close Up
Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming, was beaten and left to die on a fence in rual Laramie Wyoming.

The empty fence in this light sculpture symbolizes the absence of the boday, but the presence of the spirit.

The rose and grass symbolize life forms of the earth as they worship the spirit.

The angel in the background between the fence and the distant hills symbolizes the guardians in all of us watching over and caring for Matthew's spirits as he ascends from this earth to his new eternal home among the angels in Heaven.

The rainbow in the sky above the hills symbolizes diversity among the Gods and angels of Heaven.

The crystals symbolize healing power.

The lighted spoons (which change in colors depending from what angle you look at the) symbolize beacons of light and hope.

This light sculpture was made on commission for a charity auction.
